This wooden box is designed for a nesting pair of the common kestrel, also known as the "windhover." It is one of the smallest falcons and is known to nest in urban areas on buildings. They mainly feed on rodents, making them useful to humans. As natural nesting sites in the wild become scarce, they increasingly nest in various nooks and crannies in buildings. In the wild, they usually nest in old nests of other birds of prey and do not build their own. The wooden box is designed to provide enough space for the parents and their young (a kestrel can have up to 5 chicks). The bottom is lined with fine gravel, and there are drainage holes to allow for water runoff in case of heavy rain. The box is made of natural materials, creating natural conditions for nesting.

The box is coated with protective paint on the outside and has an asphalt roof for durability.

Installation: Kestrels prefer high places, but they will also accept a box installed on a ventilation shaft of an apartment building. Higher walls, chimneys, industrial buildings, churches, or trees are also suitable. It is recommended to install the box in a sheltered location.

Cleaning: It is not necessary to clean the kestrel box.
