The birdhouse BNB Box APZ-1/1 made of wood-concrete for house martins.

Designed by ornithologists, this wood-concrete birdhouse is suitable for one breeding pair of blue tits. They are often mistakenly called swallows by people, but in Czech they are called "jiřičky". With a new attractive design and quality workmanship, blue tits readily accept these birdhouses. Due to plastic windows and silicone plaster, blue tits lose a significant number of traditional nests, as the nests do not hold or even fall with the chicks on such surfaces. This substitute nest provides a safe and lasting alternative. Blue tits will reward you with their beautiful shimmering song and acrobatic flight. They feed on flying insects and help you create biological protection against insects in your area.

Installation: It is important that the nest is hidden from above under a canopy, cornice, or at least in a corner of a window. Blue tits only occupy it in this position - for protection from predators, sun, and rain. The nest can be mounted using the included screws in two ways.

1. First, three screws at the back of the nest are screwed into prepared holes. Then a 10 mm hole is drilled in the wall, a dowel is inserted, and a hook is screwed in. The nest is then hung on these hooks. If attaching to a panel or brick, use dowels. If attaching to a wooden wall, a dowel is not necessary.
2. If you don't need to hang the nest, you can also screw it through the board - through two prepared holes. Again, use dowels and screws with a 8 cm washer. If attaching to a panel or brick, use dowels. If attaching to a wooden wall, a dowel is not necessary. For more information on installation, see our BLOG.

CAUTION! If you find that the substrate is NOT SOLID during installation - the anchoring does not hold, adapt the anchoring to these conditions. Use longer screws, multiple screws, or chemical anchors.

The minimum height for placing the nest should be 4 meters above the ground. There is an opening at the back for cleaning if necessary, but it is not necessary. The nest openings face away from the wall, so the chicks' droppings should not soil the wall if the nest is mounted on a flat wall or under a cornice.

Material: Long-lasting eco-friendly wood-concrete resistant to weathering + MFP board (with better technical parameters than OSB board, higher resistance to moisture, pressure, and pull)
