The Song Meter Mini 2 Li-ion is an acoustic passive recorder for the long-term recording of birds, frogs and other vocal species. This is the upgraded model that could be considered to be the successor of the popular SM4 from Wildlife Acoustics, offering similar specifications at a considerably reduced price and a smaller size. A big difference, however, is that the Song Meter Mini can be operated via a smartphone or tablet with a BlueTooth connection. It also sends interim updates via the same connection to the free app on your device. You can download the "Song Meter Mini Configurator" app for free via Google Play or the Apple App store. For further processing and analysis of your data, you can use the Kaleidoscope software. The Song Meter Mini has an optional second output so that you can also record in stereo.

This new lithium version of the Song Meter Mini can be used for up to 1040 hours with 6 18650 Lithium-ion batteries. The Song Meter Mini 2 Li-ion features a lockable lid, which provides easy and safe access to your recorder. Additionally, a tripod mount has been added to the back of the case and it has a weatherproof rating of IP67.

In addition to this lithium version, the Song Meter Mini 2 AA is also available. This acoustic recorder has the same specifications as the Song Meter Mini 2 Li-ion, but is designed for rechargeable/alkaline batteries. The Song Meter Mini 2 AA can record up to 420 hours with 8 batteries.
