Designed by ornithologists, these wooden concrete birdhouses are suitable for two pairs of house sparrows, also known as "hirundines" or "jiričky" in Czech. With a new attractive design and high-quality construction, these birdhouses are readily accepted by house sparrows. Due to plastic windows and silicone coatings, house sparrows lose many traditional nesting sites as nests do not hold or fall off with their young. This alternative nest provides a safe and durable option. House sparrows reward you with their beautiful chirping and acrobatic flight, and they help you create a biological defense against insects in your area by feeding on flying insects.

Installation: It is important to hide the nest from above with a bracket, a cornice, or at least in a corner of the window. House sparrows only occupy nests in this position to protect against predators, sunlight, and rain. The nest can be mounted using the included screws in two ways:

1. First, attach the metal eyes at the back using three screws into the prepared holes. Drill a 10mm hole into the wall, insert the plug and screw in the hook. The nest can then be hung on these hooks. If attaching to a panel or brick, use plugs, and if attaching to a wooden wall, plugs are not required.
2. If the nest does not need to be suspended, it can be screwed onto the board through two prepared holes. Again, plugs and screws with a 8cm washer are used. If attaching to a panel or brick, use plugs, and if attaching to a wooden wall, plugs are not required. For more information on installation, see our BLOG.

WARNING! If you find during installation that the substrate is not strong enough to hold the anchor, adapt the anchoring to these conditions. Use longer screws, multiple screws, or chemical anchors, if necessary.

The minimum height for installing the nest is 4 meters above the ground. There is a cleaning opening at the back, but it is not necessary to use it. The nest openings face away from the wall, so the feces of the young should not soil the wall if the nest is mounted on a flat wall or under a cornice.
