Designed by ornithologists for house martins, also known as barn swallows. An elegant solution for windows on apartment buildings and family homes. Due to plastic windows and silicone plasters, house martins lose a lot of traditional nests - the nests don't hold on such surfaces or fall with their young. This substitute nest provides a safe and durable alternative. It is narrowed to 21 cm, so it fits into narrower window frames. Natural nests are often attached to windows and fall off when windows are opened. With an artificial nest, opening the window is not a problem. The pad under the nest is made of white plexiglass and prevents the windowsill from getting dirty. The nest opening faces away from the window, so the window stays clean. The nest is made of durable wood-concrete and is resistant to predators (woodpeckers, falcons, magpies). House martins accept them, but they need time, and occupancy can take one or two nesting seasons.

Placement: The nest is specially designed for the corner of the window - it is narrower (21 cm) and has a pad to catch droppings. One screw and anchor are included with the nest. It is sufficient for mounting - the nest rests on the corner of the window. More information about installation can be found on our blog.

Maintenance: The pad under the nest needs to be cleaned at least once a year. The nests themselves do not require cleaning, but house martins can benefit from spraying them in the fall with Biolit or Arpalit NEO, for example. There is a hole in the back for cleaning after removing the nest.
